Following Christ's example to be a caring Church central to the life of the community
At St Nicholas, we believe that worship is at the core of our mission and life together as a congregation. The main service of worship takes place on a Sunday at 10.30am with an average attendance of around 150. A transport service can be arranged on request for those who cannot walk to the church.
A wonderful sense of community exists within Lanark which is reflected in our congregation and in the mission of St Nicholas church.
The main service of worship is on a Sunday at 10.30am with a Sunday Morning Club for children and The Group for older children from P7 to S2. There is also a Wednesday service as well as special services throughout the year.
St. Nicholas Church offers many opportunities for members of the congregation to develop their own ministry. One of the key endeavours of the Church is to ensure that people are cared for, both within the church and within the local community.
The Parish of St Nicholas covers half the town of Lanark and two outlying villages, Nemphlar to the west and the historic New Lanark to the south. The area is mostly rural and has a wide range of historical and recreational places of interests in and around the town.
There will be a church walk this Sunday, the 24th March, leaving the church hall at 1.30pm. We will go down to Castlebank Park, walk along the Clyde walkway to New Lanark. We will then go back to Lanark via The Beeches and have refreshments at the Inn on the Loch. All are welcome to join in the walk, or meet us at the Loch afterwards for a blether.
